hi there! i have a calc file with positions incl. "." and ",". i simply want to sum them, but cals doesnt show the correct sum because it probably gets mixed up with the dots and commas.
i want to sum these 2 amounts:
742.51 (this is 742,51 euro)
1,445.00 (this should be 1445,00 euro)
800.00 (this should be 800,- euro)
there always appears "0"
___________
if i sum e.g. these numbers:
5,89
6,01
2,01
-----
13,91
it works
please can you tell me how to solve this ?
thank you,
oli

Re: how to sum numbers with "." and "," correctly
When you import those data into a spreadsheet (you don't type them in), choose "English" as import language.
Choose "English (USA)" If there are dates like 12/31/2020.
Choose any other English If there are dates like 31/12/2020.
Always check option "Detect special numbers"
