Shortcut for time and date

Post by Krassegrand »

I have learnt how to get the current time in a cell but I have forgotten it and can't find my notes about it.
I will make a folder named Open office tricks if I find out again. I thought that I did that last time.

Please, what is the combination to press to get time or date in the cell?

One more thing.
I use open office in my smartphone (Samsung S6 edge) for help at physical excersices.
I know there is a way (shortcut) to get the time on desktops but can You do it also on a Smartphone?

OpenOffice does not have any built-in shortcut for this. If your office version for Android can run macros, you find many macros on this forum. Macros can be called through keyboard shortcuts.

I kept on searching my laptop and found the instruction for the laptop.
I have a Swedish keyboard.
When I push
control, shift and the key for , or ; (control + ; ) (it really is control :) ) hahaha
I get the present time.
Is that not supposed to happen?

Well, it will happen if you are using LibreOffice, but not if you are using Apache OpenOffice. Your signature shows OpenOffice 2.4 on Ubuntu 20.04 so I guess Villeroy's answer was based on that information. Note that the version of OpenOffice you claim to be using was released in 2008 so you possibly should consider upgrading.

Or if you are using some other version of AOO or LO please consider updating your signature so we can give you appropriate advice.
Cheers
