[Solved] Only part of data file loaded

Post by andykent »

I've been given some data in a .ods file - energy consumption of a multi-site business. When I open it as a text file (Mac TextEdit) I can see there is data for 3 sites each with 2 utilities. However when I open it with OpenOffice only data for one site and one utility is visible. How do I access the rest?
OO is only showing there being a single sheet.

It seems that some rows are filtered. Try selecting the entire visible region and then selecting the menu Data -> Fitler -> Remove Filter. Alternatively, select all of column A and choose the menu item Format -> Row -> Show.

Great, thanks, the second suggestion fixed it. Why would this have been needed?

The previous user of the file may have used that filter.

Since the data came as an ods file, I have to assume the previous user hid those rows for some reason. I have never heard of a file getting filtered by merely opening it.
