OpenOffice Calculate with IB TWS

Post by statiyo »

Hello ,

I would like to retrieve 1 min and 1 hour live data from IB TWS into Openoffice calculate.

As an example, the 1 hour data would look like this

Time Open High Low Close
22:00:00 3194.25 3196.25 3191.75 3192.75
23:00:00 3192.75 3194.75 3190.75 3192.25
00:00:00 3192.50 3194.25 3191.25 3192.00

Is anyone doing this already - can it be done? Need some help please to get this up and running. Already looked at IBs site for help but they work with excel and I could not find my way with their documentation.

Thx!

Try the "Link to external data" feature.

It works with some web pages, and not works with others depending on the technology what the webpage was created with.

Please give us a link, and point it, which table of the web page you want to link to your spreadsheet file. Then we will able try and check it.

Hello!

This is the software I would like to use with openoffice: https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/i ... s-software

However am not obliged to work with IB TWS... simply put, looking for a way to obtain in openoffice, live 1 minute data for USA stocks in the following format:

Open, High, Low, Close

Thx!

It is not a link pointing a webpage that contains some online data (or data tables).

I suppose it: the linked software - what you using now - creates some files, what you want to open in the AOO Calc. Am I right?

Hi,

I actually found an excel sample file provided by Interactive brokers.

File can be obtained here: https://www.interactivebrokers.com/php/ ... eIntro.htm

However doesn't seem to work with openoffice.

For example, when I I click request historical data I get error message A SCRIPTING FRAMEWORK ERROR OCCURED WHILE RUNNING THE UNKNOWN SCRPIT UNKNOWN

notes for use of file available here: https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/index.php?f=1062

Can this file work in openoffice?

They built some application around MS Excel. Of course this can not work with any spreadsheet program other than MS Excel.
