[Solved] Get a value and a letter next to each other

Postby maxbb » Tue Feb 18, 2020 9:22 pm

Okay so I have a sheet like the screenshot one above and the fruits have 2 different values in the column next to it. However, not all the fruits have letters.
I want it to add the letter in the column next to the to the correct fruit and value

Not sure how to explain it but i guess you understand by the screenshot!

Thanks for any help i'm struggling with it a lot so help is really appreciated!

Welcome to the Forums.
First off, you attached a .csv file, which can only contain data, so no formatting of that data is stored in the file.
Secondly, the .csv file is not a screenshot but a workable file that can be used for a spreadsheet.
We recommend using the default Open Document Formats, .ods for a spreadsheet, rather than something like a .csv file
If the information being presented to you is in the style given in the top of your attached file, then generating what you are wanting (as shown at the bottom of that file) is easily done with the VLOOKUP function.
Alternatively I suspect that a Pivot Table (aka Data Pilot) would be able to give you that information.. I haven't had much use for the Pivot Table, but other requests that seem similar to yours have had that given as an option.
OpenOffice 4.1.7 and LibreOffice 6.3.3.2 on Windows 7 Pro & Ultimate

OpenOffice does not have the IFERROR function. Use something like
Code: Select all   Expand viewCollapse view
=IF(ISERROR(VLOOKUP(B7;$E$2:$F$4;2;0));"";VLOOKUP(B7;$E$2:$F$4;2;0))
Windows 10 and Linux Mint, since 2017
