Multilingual spellcheck

Postby greibush » Sun Jan 19, 2020 10:23 am

If I'm writing in more than one language, spellcheck incorrectly flags words not in the primary language as being misspelled.

It is impossible to create a document for translation without turning off spellcheck entirely, which is frustrating because this is a situation in which spelling and checking spelling are both very important.

I just want to create a spreadsheet to use for learning German, and everything in German is underlined in red because my primary language is English.

This is a pretty ridiculous problem to have intentionally programmed into OpenOffice. Please fix this as soon as possible.

It is a nonsense... Please give us the real version number and the name (Apache OpenOffice, Libreoffice or other) of the used office suite, and the operating system.

You can create and apply your own Cell Styles with different language setting. Then the spellchecker will check it by that language what was set in the Cell Style - if the language tools are installed for all of used languages.
