I want to enter an email name without it during grey and becoming a link.
I am entering a long list of names and emails to download to an application. Most of the emails are pasted in and do not automatically activate a request to send mail when I click on that cell. However, if I enter the email name directly into a cell it becomes a link. Can I turn off that function so that I can just type in email names without them becoming a link?

Re: entering email address in cell in Calc
I think the only way to turn it off for typed entries is Tools > AutoCorrect Options > Options > URL Recognition: OFF (unchecked).
Just remember: That setting also affects the other OOo applications, so if you want this feature in other situations, you'll have to turn it back on.
