If OpenOffice.org is a community, who does which tutorials are official? Should we start requiring special permission to modify the wiki? :)

No, of course, I just put "official" because it's located on the OOo web site. By opposition to all the third parties materials (and that can be very good too).

Some people may choose an "official" item because there is the OOo stamp on it, that's all.

Well, I've changed the thread title and removed the "official" term.

What about putting here all the links we find to repositories with tutorials ? We could also copy this thread in all the Tutorials subforums.

BTW, the term was not a huge deal to me. :)

I know, but I added links to materials not located in the OOo web site area.

Offsite tutorials

The forum description kind of precludes offsite tutorials, but is that intentional - perhaps to prevent people using this forum to drive traffic to their own sites? Hopefully, as none of these are by me, no one will mind. Perhaps other people can add to this thread if they see good tutorials elsewhere on the internet.

Solveig Haugland's blog OpenOffice.org Training, Tips, and Ideas carries a lot of detailed tutorials.

AndrewZ's blog OpenOffice.org Ninja includes some tutorials: Erwin just linked An OpenOffice Letterhead Tutorial for Writer.

I think, also the OpenOffice.org Ninja Wiki is worth being mentioned here!
I especially like to troubleshooting and the starting sections, as these answer questions that are quite frequently asked here.

The wiki belongs to Andrews blog OpenOffice.org Ninja which also contains a couple of helpful resources.

Regards,
phil

I find the video tutorials most useful. Posting this to update the list in here:

http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation

You can find the video tutorials under "Screencast" in that page.

if everyone will start editing the wiki page then the data and information will be erroneous and inaccurate

... and if nobody will edit the wiki it will remain incomplete and soon become outdated. That is the wiki nature...

Bhikkhu Pesala's tips are no longer working -at least not to me. Was kind of curious what these tips were about.

Any idea when some type of Introductory book will be published for use with 4.0? If not in the near future, and for those of us looking to adopt at the university level, where could we get a 3.X version to work with available documentation?
