To move to a hyperlinked heading, one must Ctrl-Click on the hyperlink; this works perfectly when the link is correctly formed. Such links in the Table of Contents are usually defined by use of a Heading style, often Heading 1 to Heading 4.

Try the attached file:

This works, however, it doesn't work for other heading than heading 1 in my document.

Can you upload a sample file (see: How to attach a document here)?
Make sure you've used the headings styles with the Outline Numbering feature (the title should appear in the Navigator.

Then the Table of Contents may need to be adjusted to recognise the lower Heading levels as hyperlinks. The example I gave only had the settings correct for Heading 1, as I only needed that level in the sample document.

Install https://libreoffice.org/
Open your document, remove the ToC and create a new one. It will be hyperlinked.

You can edit an existing ToC to have hyperlinks inserted:
  • Right click and select "Edit index/table" to open the ToC dialog.
  • Select the Entries tab
  • The entry structure field has blocks indicating entry elements. Entry structure is edited for each outline level separately.
    • Select the outline level where you want to activate linking
    • Select an empty space to the left of the element(s) that should constitute a link.
    • Click the Hyperlink button. A Link Start element is inserted.
    • Select an empty space to the right of the element(s) that should constitute a link.
    • Click the Hyperlink button. A Link End element is inserted.
    • Repeat for other outline levels if applicable
  • Click OK button
  • You may need to right click and "Update" to see the changes.
Edit: Essentially this is the same as Bikkhu Pesala wrote in the thread linked to in the opening post, but more of a step by step approach and perhaps more concise. Sorry that I repeat what you already tried. Your link didn't work for me at first.

ToC = Table of Contents. Otherwise I did not use any technical terms except the word "download"
