Muliple Scanning through writer

I have a document feeder on my scanner and when I go to insert multiple images from my scanner writer scans all of the images but when you click on done only the first images shows up. I have tried everything I know to get all the images to show as a different page in Writer. Please advise

Can you get the scanner to save to disk? It would be interesting to know if the scanner is producing one or more files. What format is the scanner producing?

My scanner produces single jpg files but multi-page PDF documents. An old scanner of mine uses the tiff format for multi-page images. The output format is set up in the scanner configuration.
