Force entire table onto next page instead of splitting

Postby creau4 » Wed Mar 20, 2019 3:50 pm

Within my template, I loop over a list and create a table for each item. When the list is long, the tables near the end of the page, and spill onto the next.

The problem: tables are splitting over two pages (see screenshot below).
Desired outcome: entire table pushed onto the next page, instead of being split up.

Clarification: I do not simply want to keep each ROW from splitting, rather I'd like the entire table to stay intact.
Note: Within Table Properties, I have unchecked "Allow table to split across pages and columns" (see screenshot below).

Thanks!

Works for me when I uncheck"Allow table to split across pages and columns" after inserting then table. The table jumps to the start of a new page if there is not enough room for it on the pager. If it is too long for the page it obviously spills rows from the bottom.

Hmm...it's still is not working for me. I just did another test.

Here is what the table looks like within my Text Document:

Here are the table properties:

And here is what it looks like when generated - still split:

Please upload a sample file. It's impossible to analyze a file from a picture of your computer's rendition of the file.

What happens if you try to untick "Allow row to break ..."?
(You have to tick "Allow table to split ..." temporarily to enable the subordinate tick box.)

Shouldn't make a difference, but it might.

Also, has the template at any time been within MS Word context? (Saved as .doc/.docx/.dot/etc., or edited in MS Word)
Tables with modified layout (split/merge cells) sometimes behave very strange after they make such transitions.
