Click the More Options button in the Find & Replace dialog and make sure Regular Expressions is selected.
You can also make a tab delimited file directly from Calc. Choose Save As and set the file type to CSV. There should now be a check box near the bottom of the dialog that says something like Edit Filter Settings. Select that and continue with the save process. You will reach a dialog where you can set the field delimiter to tab.
