Single line spacing format wont work.

I've tried selecting everything in a document and formatting for single spacing but it's not working.

Generally, applying direct formatting to an entire document shouldn't be used in place of modifying the used paragraph styles. Did you try modifying the Default paragraph style instead?

How do you do that? I tried selecting just the part I wanted to change to single spacing, but that also didn't work.

EDIT - never mind, I figured it out.
