Rotating pictures after insertion

Post by JAYKACENA »

Pictures inserted into my document insist on a horizontal orientation. How can I rotate them once transferred from my picture file?

You can copy the image and paste into Draw. Then paste it back into writer. It now has changed from an image object into a Draw object which can be rotated in fine degrees.
To do this easier install the extension WriterRotationTool. Restart OO. There is a very small icon on a Toolbar which will turn a selected image into a Draw type.
You also can use LibreOffice 6 which supports rotation also on normal images. But opening such a file in OO will reset the rotation.

See [Tutorial] Some useful hints on using images for a discussion on how best to handle images in Writer.
LO 6.4.4.2, Windows 10 Home 64 bit

See the Writer Guide, the Writer FAQ, the Writer Tutorials and Writer for students.

Remember: Always save your Writer files as .odt files. - see here for the many reasons why.
