[Solved] File doesn't open: file format error

Post by dkhasinaubrazil »

Hello,

I saved this extremely important file (attached) in docx format this morning, but Writer doesn't open it anymore now.

It retrieves the following message:

File format error found at
SAXParseException: '[word/document.xml line 2]: Attribute w:eastAsiaTheme redefined
', Stream 'word/document.xml', Line 2, Column 32201(row,col).

I guess it is quite the same problem faced by markhand in viewtopic.php?f=7&t=86863, but I have just no idea of how to follow the steps the specialists presented to solve it.

I hope to recover the document. By the way, I'm running LibreOffice 5.3.3.2 in Windows 10.
Thanks in advance for your attention,

Diego

Formatting and content were fully recovered.

I have no words to express how grateful I am, so I simply say thank you so much, RoryOF!

May I suggest you consider the Time stamped backup extension to provide you with multiple backups of important documents.

I would also suggest you work, and save, in native ODF format - .odt - and save documents as .docx only when absolutely necessary.
Cheers
