[Solved] How to indent wrapped lines of numbered paragraphs?

I have a list of numbered paragraphs where wrapped lines start under the number instead of under the text of the 1st line. How can I cause the 2nd (and later) lines within a numbered paragraph to indent.

I also want it to work when I add a series of dashes or underline characters left of the number.

Use the paragraph styles.

Create an adjust and apply your own Paragraph style or List style.
You can adjust the properties of the first line in a paragraph style differently.

I discovered my mistake. I had copied the content from a PDF file. When I pasted it into Writer every line became a paragraph.
