Print Edge Problems

Post by FrustratedReception »

I downloaded a great template (I believe it was from this forum actually) to make a Tri-Fold Leaflet but when I print the edges are way out despite looking fine on the print preview and I know the printer can print fairly close to the edge.
I've added a copy of the source file with the company logo and name removed, a scan of the printout and a screenshot of the print preview to give you all a good idea of each stage.
I've tried fiddling a bit but everything I've touched just destroys all the formatting that I have.

(also if anyone has any recommendations for additions to the content of the leaflet this is welcome too)

Thanks!

What paper size is being used in your printer? Your second image looks like it is printed on A4, not US Letter.

It is UK A4 but I have tried changing the paper type on the print options to A4 and it didn't make a notable difference.

It is UK A4 but I have tried changing the paper type on the print options to A4 and it didn't make a notable difference.
The size of the A4 paper is: 297,0 x 210,0 mm
The size of a letter paper is 279,4 x 215,9 mm

There is not enough place to print a letter size document onto an A4 paper.
You must reedit the document to the A4 size, or you can try to decrement the margin size.

You need to /Format /Page and set Page size to A4, then reposition your columns to suit the new page size. Or leave it at Letter, then on /File /Print, press Properties button and select Letter as the Paper size in the printer, then insert Letter sized paper in the printer (if you can find this in an A4-using locale).
