Recover files after computer reset

I was forced to reset my laptop after a crash without being able to save files. How do I recover my old files? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. They are text files on window's 10.

In the Windows 10 world, "reset" basically means "reinstall Windows 10". If you reset the computer without saving the old files, then you should go to a Windows 10 forum for help.

If, on starting OO , the files are not shown in /Files /Recent documents, you should be able to use the /File /Open navigation buttons to navigate to the directory in which they were saved. As you select and open each such file it will appear once more in Recent Documents.
