[Solved] Using OpenStreet Map

Post by johnoo »

I've just started using "Open Street Map" web site.
https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=5/58.171/-8.525
I would like to store downloads of maps in AOO Write.
Any idea how this can be carried out.
The only way I can see at the moment is to download to Windows Photo Viewer

The download seems to be in .osm format, which is based on XML. I suspect you will be better to target opening in Draw; whether you might need to write a filter to improve rendering, I cannot say.

Thanks, think I've solved it.
I download as PNG & then copied/pasted to Write & it's OK.

See [Tutorial] Some useful hints on using images for a discussion on how best to handle images in Writer.
LO 6.4.4.2, Windows 10 Home 64 bit

See the Writer Guide, the Writer FAQ, the Writer Tutorials and Writer for students.

Remember: Always save your Writer files as .odt files. - see here for the many reasons why.
