[Solved] Create a form in Writer to make a covering letter

Does anyone know if it's possible to create a covering letter through the inputs of a Form in Writer? In other words, I want a simple way of creating a covering letter in Writer through the use of a Form where the user of the form can input the title of the letter recipient (Mr, Mrs, Sir, Madam, Sir or Madam, etc) the subject line, and the main text body of the letter. What would be the best way? Thanks.

Another way to generate letters is using Mail Merge. In this case, the variable data can be entered into a Calc spreadsheet. You can generate one letter or dozens, depending on how many rows are in the spreadsheet. Read about Mail Merge in Help → Index or in User Guides (PDF) or searching for topics about it in the Calc Forum or Writer Forum.

As a new poster you will find much useful information in the Writer FAQ, the Writer Tutorials, the up to date Writer guide and the Writer Manual. May I suggest you bookmark the pages.

Forms are covered in Chapter 15. Mail Merge is fully covered in Chapter 11.

Press F1 to access the Help screen and search for your problem

When a pop-up window opens, click the Help button for extensive help on that function - it is often more comprehensive than the manual.
