Removing the thick black line

[SOLEVD] Every time I hit the enter button it creates a thick black line rather than just allowing me to make another paragraph. I don't know how to stop it from creating the line every time I hit enter. It started after I put *** in the center of the page and then hit enter, that's when the *** turned into a thick line.
