[Solved] Separate pages to one file
[Solved] Separate pages to one file
When I get a letter I like to OCR it and then insert my comments into the body of the text just after the bit which I am answering. The OCR converts to .rtf. If you open it in Wordpad all the pages are contained in one long page which you can edit to your hearts contect. But if you open the .rtf with Writer there is much more in the way of formatting from the original pages. The downside is that if you insert text the page grows as far as the bottom of the page and no further. How do I make one continuous file, without page breaks, in Open Office?

Re: Separate pages to one file
Two possibilities I can think of; View |Web Layout will give a single page but may have a different width - play with zoom to vary the on screen display. Or, Format | Page and set the page length to 300cm (about 118 inches for those using imperial units); if there are any manual page breaks in the original document they will need to be removed or there can be large sections of empty page with the longer setting.

Re: Separate pages to one file
Thanks for reply. I'll look at it late tonight.

Dear Robleyd
Thank you for your suggestions. I've finally found the time to look at them. Web Layout is best. I can print straight from this layout. Problem solved.
By the way, that is a very dangerous penguin you have there.
All the best.
