Possibly. You would need to upload it to the forum (128k maximum size) or upload it to a file sharing service and the post a link to the uploaded file.
We need to be able to access the file in order to determine if anything can be done or not.
For future reference, we always recommend working in the Open Document Format (.odt for Writer files) and only convert to other formats when all of the work is done and only if necessary.
OpenOffice 4.1.7, LibreOffice 7.0.1.2 on Windows 7 Pro, Ultimate & Windows 10 Home (2004)

It may be a bug in a .doc file. See Issue 123830 - Particular.doc fails to open with Error Message "not a WinWord97 file" and Issue 119304 - Documents written in OO-Writer, Save as word 6, fail to re-open.

What is the history of the file?

Stop saving files as .doc files. See [Tutorial] Differences between Writer and MS Word files for why you should always work in and save files as .odt.
MS files.png
LO 6.4.4.2, Windows 10 Home 64 bit

See the Writer Guide, the Writer FAQ, the Writer Tutorials and Writer for students.

Remember: Always save your Writer files as .odt files. - see here for the many reasons why.
