Mail Merging

I have a Calc spreadsheet with names and addresses and want to use it as a source for printing out envelopes. Is this possible? If not how do I convert the spreadsheet to a Table in Writer? Cut & paste doesn't seem to work.
OpenOffice 4.1.1 English UK on MacOS 10.10.1

Search the forum with mail merge or labels and you will find many posts telling you how to do it. Chapter 11 - Using Mail Merge in the manual describes how to do it.
