It is because you have a new empty paragraph below the table. If the table extends to the bottom page margin a new page is added to take the empty paragraph.

View > Non printing characters..., to see it.

The simplest workaround is to set it to 1 point and live with it.

Edit: See [Solved] Tables always add a blank line after the table to remove it.
