Printing #10 envelope on windows 7 in OpenOffice or MS Word

Post by ahanova »

Hi,
I just got a new computer and had to install OpenOffice. I installed the 4.1.5 version, the newest. I also have MS Word 2007.
I am trying to print a No. 10 envelop. It's cutting off the top and left side of the return address.
I have tried to readjust the margins. It's giving me error messages.
I never had a problem before using the OO4.1 on my old computer with Windows 7.
I hadn't used MS Word in years, so I prefer to use OO.
How do I set the margins, print settings to get this to print correctly?
I have attached the document.
Do I need to adjust it somehow for the new OO 4.1.5?
It won't print in MS Word 2007, either. Same result.
Is this a software issue that came with the new OO version?

Please help.

Thank you,
Andrea

No, I've had it a long time. It's a Canon MF8580cdw. I can't figure out what the issue is. I've tried to set everything to a No. 10 envelope, tried to set the margins to 0", 0.25" and 0.5". Not getting anywhere. It's cutting off the top of my company logo and the left side of the return address area. It's wanting to put a margin, but I can't figure out how to set it to no borders and no margins so that I can adjust it as necessary for printing. What I see to BE printed on the screen and what I ACTUALLY print aren't the same.
Any suggestions?
This is also happening in MS Word 2007. I am getting the same issue. I must be doing something wrong, but I don't know what.

In /File /Print : General tab, Properties button, are you setting the paper size to be No 10 envelope?
Edit: and on the same setting, set the input tray (probably) to manual feed.

File>Printer setting>Properties

Basic Settings tab:
Page size: No. 10 Envelope
Output size: No. 10 Envelope
Orientation: Portrait

Page Source tab:
No. 10 Envelope (doesn't give me pop up error box)
Envelop 10 (gives me pop up error box with: Invalid value has been specified in the select profile. Invalid value will be corrected automatically.)

These settings aren't working.
Is there something else that I can do?

I think the AOO #10 envelope template is faulty - search the forum for other posts about it.

Create a template which is the size of the envelope you require and use that to lay out your envelope.
