[Solved] fraction changes to dates in tables
I have a page with tables. Fractions in majority of the cells. But in a few cells the fraction, as example: 3/10 changes to 03/10/18. I have tried everything to get it to stop. Been to FORMAT, and TOOLS, done what I found on the Internet Open Office said to do, and nothing. It just keeps changing my fractions!. Yes, I could type a3/10 and it would not do that, but that takes lots of time when I have hundreds of cells to fill in. It will not stop. I have tried all. There must be some simple solution?

I assume you are using tables in Writer. Select the table cells then right click and remove the selection from Number Recognition.

THANK YOU, it works! So easy, just a right click away! Now why was not that simple instruction put in the HELP section? Would have saved lots of frustration!
