[Solved] Files with imported highlights - change colours

Post by kenppy »

I have imported text with several colours used for highlighting. These colours are wrong for the legends I want to use and need to be changed. The imported colours do not appear in my pallette.

How do I pick all text of each colour to make the change?
thanks

If each colour is applied using a dedicated character style, changing a particular style is trivially simple.

Sorry, as far as I know, you can search/select all text that has a background color attribute, but you can't search for a specific background color.

The best approach is, as already pointed out, to use named styles to apply the colors. That makes it simple to apply color changes: you only have to modify the style definition to get a different color for all the instances. But that doesn't help with a document that's already formatted by direct changes.

The simplest (as in primitive) way to fix an existing document would be to use an editor on the document xml to find/replace each instance of a color code with a different code.

Thanks, this works for me, better than doing it manually.
