Greetings,
Newbie and first post here.
When trying to select two images on one panel of a brochure the selection jumps to the graphic in the next panel.
To clarify. I have two image in vertical alignment. I select one image, hold down the shift key, then click on the second image.
When I click on the second image the image on the next panel is selected instead.
Here is the .odt file: http://epicroadtrips.us/odt/
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
WV-Mike

As far as I know, OO Writer does not support selecting multiplegraphic elements images.
What are you trying to do? There's probably an alternative approach.

Re: Problems selection multiple graphics
Greetings, I am trying to group two graphics together. That way I can move them together as a single object.acknak wrote:Greetings and welcome to the community forum!

I assumed Writer would be suitable for this type of project.
I know grouping graphics can be done in MS Word but Word will not allow a setting for a paper length over 22".
My page is longer as it will be an accordion fold brochure.

Re: Problems selection multiple graphics
OO Writer is missing support for some pretty important graphics operations. My approach is to use OO Draw for anything but the most trivial constructions/manipulations.
Generally, graphics in OO Writer can be difficult to position, for a couple of reasons. I find layout to be simpler and more predictable if I change their wrap mode to "as character" and treat them as part of the text. In that case the images can be easily aligned using Format > Paragraph > Indents & Spacing > Space before ... so that they share the same indent.
If you really want to treat them as a group: in OO Draw, you can insert or paste the images and then copy/paste into OO Writer; they will paste as a group.
Note: This limitation applies to multiple images, not graphics elements in general. You can use the drawing tools in OO Writer and then group/ungroup those elements.

Re: Problems selection multiple graphics
As described above there are different types of graphics possible in Writer.
Normal inserted images, which can't be grouped and graphic draw objects (that also can hold images) that can be grouped.
You can create draw images by inserting images into draw and then copy and pasting them into writer.
Alternatively you can convert normal images into draw objects right in writer by using the extension:
https://extensions.openoffice.org/de/pr ... tationtool
For OpenOffice versions 4+ use the version 1.0.3 from the comments there or the 1.0.4 here attached.
As always: After installing an extension you have to restart OO for the Toolbar to appear.
If you don't want to convert images into Draw-objects but still be able to change properties of multiple images then you can play with their framestyles or make use of this extension:

Re: Problems selection multiple graphics
Thanks to all for the replies.
I will try some of these solutions.
I am also looking into using Scribus.
