Fatal Error - Caught Unknown Exception - Aborting

Post by allears1717 »

I create a file. Save in .rtf, or .odf. Reopen file, within moments a Fatal error window appears as in subject line. When trying again. Recovery attempts and recovers! But alas, crashes again with same error once OO launches.

uninstalled using Revo and advanced scan. trying a new install and also downgrading from 4.1.3 to 4.1.2. tried rolling back recent windows 10 update. KB4033637 to no avail. System restore point doesn't go back to before when this problem existed.

Exporting as .pdf opens file in other applications ok.

Thank you. I will try that. I wanted to update my findings. I see similar errors happening when scrolling a file with lots of images. This is a yearbook with lots of headshots. I tried turning off view images and O.O functions fine. Before turning view images back on, i increased allowed limit for image files, but did not correct when turned back to view images.

After you increased the memory allocation for images, did you close down and restart Open Office?
Sometimes those changes don't come into effect until the next start of Open Office.
Additionally, are the images linked or imbedded?
