Problem with shrinking word processing docu. in black box
I am a new open office user. I started typing a word processing document and all of sudden it shrunk and appeared in the upper left hand corner in a black box. When I tried to start a new document it would not let me do so!!! Don't have a clue what I did to cause this. Please advise

no clue how to do that. Beginner in many ways. Simply typing a document and all of a sudden it shrunk, went to upper left hand corner and now when I try to start a new page, a black square appears in the middle of the page and it wont let me type.

Look at /View /Zoom, check Single page and Fit wIdth.
How are you attempting to start a new page? OpenOffice treats text as a continuous flow and only starts a new page when needed, unless one /Insert Manual Break ' page break.
