[Solved] Deleting repeated blank lines

Post by wenshidi »

I am using open office writer to edit a text document. The imported document has one line of text and then three blank lines. Is there any way to automate deleting all the blank lines rather that going through it manually?

Use /Edit /Find and Replace. In Find box enter ^$, nothing in Replace box; drop "More Options" and select "Regular Expressions". Then press Replace All button. Repeat Replace All until nothing is found. This will strip all blank lines from your file. If in any doubt, make a backup copy of the original so you can revert to that and try again if necessary.
