My next door neighbor is almost blind and I want an easy text writer for him to use.
I will be installing OpenOffice.
When I open OpenOffice, the main page opens showing:
Text Doc
Spread Sheet
Presentation
Drawing, etc.
All the activities that OpenOffice can perform
Is there away to make it less complicated for someone that can barely see?
Can OpenOffice be made to always open in the Text Doc program?. That would be the only activity that he would use and less complicated for him.
If so, how would that be accomplished? I couldn't discover away to do it.
Thanks for any help.
Jim

Re: Please help my almost blind neighbor
There are shortcuts on the Start Menu to open the individual programs instead of OpenOffice. If you want to put a shortcut on the Desktop to start Writer, right-click the OpenOffice Writer shortcut on the Start Menu and select More > Open file location. In the folder that opens, right-click the Writer shortcut and select Send to > Desktop (create shortcut).

I could not wait until tomorrow.
I went on my computer and did as you said. It worked perfectly.
I would have never looked in the Start Menu.
Thank you
