if document has a checkbox ,where you check it ,it shows ☑
click the print preview ,ok,it still shows ☑
however~~~~
when you print it or export it to a pdf file
it changes to ☒

Hi and welcome to the forum!
A problem with the font used I guess.
Have you tried to export as PDF with the format PDF/A-1a? It should embed the fonts used in your document (else, it can use substitution fonts).
Use the menu File > Export as PDF.

A workaround would be to use a font character and not a control that you check/uncheck. But it defeats the point of having a control...

Well, in fact, you can't yet.
After some digging, I found out that this is an old feature request: Issue 116866 - Checkbox ticks always export to pdf as crosses.
You can register and vote for it.
