[Solved] URL conversion of %23 to "#" and 404

This may be a problem with certain browsers but when I enter a link of:
http://dragonspaw.blogspot.com/search/label/%23%23prerequisite

With the same description. The link is converted to:
http://dragonspaw.blogspot.com/search/label/#%23prerequisite

This is invalid and generates a 404 when clicked.

Any idea as to how to prevent this 'help' by Writer or other work around?

Thanks a million!

Hi and welcome to the forum!

There was a recent discussion about that here: [Solved] Hyperlinks change upon insertion. However, it had no impact on the true url. In your case, however, only the first %23 is replaced by its value (#). I tried with 2 ## and it doesn't work.
This is something related to url parsing with unicode but I'm not an expert.

Can confirm it with LO4.4.7.
In odt and PDF-Export the first %23%23 gets converted to #%23
When exporting to html both get converted to ##
For usage in PDF best don't insert as Hyperlink but unformatted text, so the PDF-Reader can detect correctly.

Then this is a bug and it's on the XP and Win 7 versions as well.

This is by far the best Office version and my first use was Libre; your's is far more stable!

Thanks for the great tool, and help folks!

Regards,
T

ps: Is there a bug report that can be monitored?
Thx again!

A workaround could be to shorten the url with https://goo.gl/

I agree. LO seems to favour new function over stability whereas AOO favours stability over new function.

As a former IBM'er that loaths the WinTel memory Hog/BUG model to drag you forward into their back door/ravioli code model, stability is my concern.
(C/ASM/RPG II/III/400/JAVA/VB and about 10 other minor langs.)

Thanks for the idea and I can't believe that did not occur to me as TinyURL is used all the time!
Worked like a charm! :super:

If you're not aware of the secret "race war" being covered up by ALL Western national media, and seen only on local news, see:
(Cloud drive of US interstate violence and rampant black crime; it's 'racist' to finger black and Jewish racism, criminality and violent crime! Total crap!)

All cultures, elderly, children, babies, women, etc.:

You need some means to defend your family as the media/feds are pushing these Qabala ritual false flags like they pulled in Charleston, as real to piss off the black people and have done a great job!
