Dear OO Writer specialists,
I am currently writing a proposal for which there is a page limit. The references should be given as footnotes but count towards the page limit. Now I happen to have rather short references in the footnotes and every footnote takes a whole line in the footer section. Is there any possibility how I can put (by hand) several short footnotes in one line?
It would be great to get help with this! So far, I only found information about identing but not about the line breaks between the footnotes.
Thanks a lot in advance,
Masterplan

Greetings and welcome to the community forum!
Sorry, no. Inline notes are not possible with OO Writer's built-in footnotes.
I'm not sure if there's a reasonable workaround using fields; it may end up being more trouble than it's worth.

I agree with acknak; I don't know of any way to do this.

Ok, thanks for the quick replies.
So I guess I will simply have to put numbering by hand and add it in the lines of the footnotes?

Re: Footnotes without linebreak / Several footnotes in one l
If you want several footnotes on one line, you could manually add others on the same line, and in the text you could insert a superscript corresponding number. Then, when you insert the next footnote, don't use the automatic numbering, but "Character" instead, and type the correct footnote number.
It would make sense to choose "Numbering per page" in the footnotes options (Tools - Footnotes - Numbering), so that you have to manually insert numbers only to the end of a page.

Is there perhaps a way to write the coded number that is used for the footnotes to get the anchor to auto-number itself based on its position in the text? (I am thinking about going through the Insert → Field → Variables menu.) I know that at least in Word there apparently are some special characters which can be used for searches; maybe something similar could be used here?
