I don't know exactly how to word this but I guess my little girl hit a few keys and changed by formatting somehow. The best thing I guess i can do is copy and paste an example of my problem. When I start a new line a musical note type figure appears, when I hit the space bar, a dot appears. and of course when I copy and paste here ... it doesn't show. Can you help me get back to plain typing haha. thanks in advance. Michael

we got up early and got going to ride Carl Ray's boat in the boat parade. Jessi asked him last night if he minded Charlee coming on board. He was very gracious and told us to bring her up. She was a big hit as she walked all over the houseboat, playing with Buggs and Matt and everybody in between. The highlight of this trip was slipping off to the back bedroom and falling asleep.

Try turning off the menu item View -> Nonprinting Characters.
OpenOffice 4.1 on Windows 10 and Linux Mint
