Thanks for the community!

Just need to know how to do a keyboard shortcut. In this case, it's for U+2610 (ballot box).

Thanks!

You could try holding the Alt key down while entering 2610 using the numeric keypad.
If this doesn't work, then the only option I'm aware of is to use Insert -> Special Character
OpenOffice 4.1.7, LibreOffice 7.0.1.2 on Windows 7 Pro, Ultimate & Windows 10 Home (2004)

Copy this ballot box ☐ and paste it into a Writer document. Highlight the character. Edit → Autotext → Name → Ballot → Autotext → New to create an autotext with that character and formatting. Or Edit → Autotext → Name → Ballot → Autotext → New (text only) to create an autotext with that character but no formatting. Close the dialog box. Delete the character from the document. To insert this autotext type B and press F3. Read about Autotext in the Help, in this forum, or in the Wiki.

To insert Unicode characters with the numeric keyboard on a PC read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unicode_input.

If this solved your problem please go to your first post use the Edit button and add [Solved] to the start of the title. You can select the green checkmark icon at the same time.
