Document become # symbols

Post by James_Hadden »

Hello,

I am trying to recover an .odt file that has had all 17 pages of text replaced with 17 pages of continuous hash symbols (######)! I'm aware this problem has been posted before in the past, but no resolution was made, and I have tried the suggestions on that page (viewtopic.php?f=6&t=17677).

If opened in OpenOffice a request is displayed asking which font to load it in, then regardless of the choice it will load like this, so it is some sort of font issue. All other documents still open fine, so it is something corrupt about this particular file.

When I open it in any other program it is just a blank document, despite it's non-zero file size.

I have attached the file. Is there any way we can recover it?

Cheers,
James

I'm afraid not. You'll have to go back to one of your backups.
