[Solved] Text Docs Won't Print In Color
I can print other types of files in color but not documents created in Writer. The layout and print preview shows color but documents print in black and white only. Is there a master setting for this?

Hi and welcome to the forum!
As a workaround, you can export to PDF first. But as for the problem, try perhaps to reset your OpenOffice user profile.

On /File /Print there is a Properties button. Press that. On the Advanced Tab there is a setting for Color. This may be set to B&W or greyscale rather than Colour. See attached screenshot. Note that these screens may vary between operating systems and also with printer manufacturers, but a little exploration may find the setting for your Printer.

Fixed, thank you.
File - Print - Properities - Advanced option had print all text in black selected - I changed this - it now prints in color.

A simple work around for me was to copy the document that I wished to print, then CLOSE OpenOffice ... Open OpenOffice a second time, open "Text Document" and paste the copy of your document then Save it. You will now able to go to "My Documents" and print the new version and delete the original copy. I keep everything straight by simply adding a 1 after the new copy's title. This solved the printing problem for both of the computers that I have that are running Open Office.
