[Solved] Get rid of blue font

Post by clayshannon »

How do I turn off the "feature" that turns seemingly random words and phrases blue? Is there a universal way to revert all the blue text in a document to good old black?

Click on each occurrence of a blue text and look at Character Styles (second icon from left) in Styles and Formatting window (press F11 to get it). If a character style is highlighted, right click on it, select Modify, and change the text option to Black. If there are many of the same character style in use, changing the master for that style will change all the others. They are probably Hyoerlinks.
Edit: If that doesn't work can you upload a page of your file containing a few examples of the problem?

cross-posting without reference is rude
Especially when you got an answer there more than one hour before asking here.

Thanks, that worked fine, although I had to explicitly select the "Internet Link" item; the "Default" item was selected by default... BTW, were you named for Gallagher? I've got all of his CDs.

<<They are probably Hyoerlinks>>

Are Hyoerlinks Swiss/Dutch golfers or sausage makers? <g>

He was born three years after me.
Typo: should be Hyperlinks

Really? The two answers were quite different; it seems the one I got here works for an individual document, whereas the other answer might be a universal setting.

Well, maybe he was named for you, then.

Yes.
People volunteer to help you, and not all read more than one forum. Setting a link is not the deal.

You never asked for a document related solution.
My answer seemed adequate for your "No need no stinkin' blue font!!!" statement
