[Solved] Writer won't let me capitalize the first letter!

Post by Garren1013 »

Trying to capitalize the first letter of a single word in a cell but the stupid thing keeps changing it to lower case. How the heck do I turn off any and all automated options in this program? This is not the first time I ran into problems with the program thinking it knows what I want better than I do. I would just like the thing to enter EXACTLY what I type and nothing else.

Hmm... I'm not sure that autocorrect would cause your capitalized typing to change to all lower-case.

Does the lower-case word appear elsewhere in the same column? If so, then Calc is probably trying to make the new entry match the existing one(s).

You can prevent that by Tools > Cell Contents > Autoinput: OFF (unchecked).

Yes, thank you, that was it. How do I mark the thread as solved?

Edit the title of your first post and add [Solved]. You can also use the green tick icon. (I have done it for you.)
