Hello,
I am new to this forum. Did a search and found no postings on this.
I am using Open Office for pretty much everything and it is great. I save files as MS Word documents to send to other people. Plain documents work fine so far but I am losing Headers and Footers. Could be me as I am still finding my way round. Anyone else had this problem or know what I am doing wrong?

Can you upload two example files here?
(an .odt type, and a converted .doc type file)
(see: How to attach a document here)?

As I can see it, the formatting methode in header and footer in your .odt file not equivalent .
The "normal" Header/Footer background color can not converted into doc format (is it a bug?), but your "Footer format" can converted.
How do you created the footer "double-color format"?

| Edit: I tried to convert a new, colored Header/Footer .odt file to Word97/2000/XP format. The result is: not Header, nor Footer color in .doc file |

Re: Headers and Footers not saving in MS Word
Seems to work fine for me with 3.2.1 on W2k. But I don't use the advanced options of the footer/header. I've just changed the paragraph styles (+ direct formatting for the blue line):
Here is the exported file:

Re: Headers and Footers not saving in MS Word
solved - Thanks very much.
Will need to play to find out exactly how the footer formatting works but that is exactly what i needed it to do.

"Paragraph background color" vs. "Header/Footer background color"
...the winner is: "Paragraph background color"
