[Solved+Issue] Comments in Word 7 .docx files

Post by williamschrist »

Hello,
comments (or annotations) in imported doxc files are handled wrong. All comments for the current document are shown in all comment places.
Does somebody know how to solve this issue?

Thank you in advance
williams

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Do you use the Ubuntu version of OOo? It's not the same than the vanilla version from Sun: [Ubuntu] Installing OOo on Debian and Co.

Can you upload a sample file here so that we check?

NB: for further details about docx, see MS Office 2007 OOXML file format (docx, xslx, pptx, ppsx).

Hello,
Im using the Ooo version coming with ubuntu packages. Its OOO 320m12 (Build: 9483).
See attachments: Comment_test.docx and screenshot: comments_in_ooo.jpg

you can see: all comments in the whole document are together in every single comment.

Williams

I see the same with 3.2.1 on W2k. So it's a common problem. Perhaps 3.3-dev is better (can't check right now).

Here is another screenshot from the content.xml of the resulting ODT file. You can see, that all comments of the document are in one <office:annotation> element.

... the same with OOO330_m9 (3.3 codeline), DEV300_m88 (3.x codeline), LibO 3.3 beta.

Then I've opened the file in MS Word 2000, and saved as Comment_test.odt [Sun ODF PlugIn 3.2].

Opened in OOo 3.2.1

Hey, this converter solves the problem. I can see all comments in the normal way.

Thank you for this hint.

HI All,

SO do in understand it correctly that the solution for this problem is...having MS Office with the SUN ODF plugin installed at my disposal? Unfortunately i don't have MS Office at all and run ubuntu. Any suggestions?

Kind regards,

Hi,

I have the same problem with the comments all appearing in each box, and so difficult to view. i have downloaded to converter, but when I installed it, it made no difference. It appeared I needed first to install the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 (x86) , but when I try to do this, it tells me that it is not compatible with Vista, and I cannot seem to find a version that is available for Vista.

I hope someone can help me, Ive been trying to solve this problem for weeks and keep gongi around in circles!

Thankyou

Hi,
I still have this problem with docx comments. The converter didn't help me.
I don't really understand what I should do with this:
http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbo ... anik.cz%3E
Should I modify sg manually?

I have an other problem with comments in .doc and .odt files as well: I can not set numbering for comments: comment #1, comment #2... How to do it?
