[Solved] In Chart need different left and right Y axis

Folks

I want to put 2 different scales on the y axis. I want to put dollars on the left Y axis and count on the right Y axis. I want to do this as the values are different by a couple of orders of magnitude.

How can I do this?

Sorry, but OOo Chart does not support that kind of dual-axis plot. Each axis must have a data series; you can't have two different scales for the same data.

You can force it with a dummy data set, but you'll have to set the axis limits yourself to be sure that they match. The two axes are completely independent as far as OOo is concerned, and you can easily end up with unmatched left/right axes.

In hope that I didn't state my need well enough.

I will have data that will share the x axis (month in my case). I will have a separate data set for each of the desired Y axis.

Example

Data set 1

Jan $32,000
Feb $ 24,000
March $56,900
May $13,678

Data set 2
Jan 24
Feb 11
March 15
May 56

I want to graph on the same plot but with a different left Y and Right Y scales. Can this be done?

Sure, just create the chart including both columns. Then, right-click on the line/symbol for second data set and choose "Format Data Series", then the "Options" tab, and select "Align data series to" > "Secondary Y axis", and OK.
