Handwriting font

Post by clasen »

I need a handwriting font for a project I'm working on. I've tried to download a couple of free fonts from the internet, but I can't get them into my writer. Any ideas on how to get a good handwriting font to work with openoffice? Thanks in advance for your help.

Can you give us a link to the font, so we can test it as well?

Generally, all you have to do is install a font using your system's font install (what OS are you using, BTW?), then completely re-start OOo (including the quickstarter). The new font should be in OOo's list of fonts.

I am using Mac OSX. One of the fonts I would like to download is at http://www.fontparade.com/index.php?down=1137. Let me know if you have any luck making this work, or were I might find a font that will. Thanks again.

Sorry, it works perfectly for me ;-)

I know zip about MacOS, but I can't imagine that it's a big hassle to install a system font. How did that go?

You might want to try using the Forum at NeoOffice, they are the Mac specialists and know best what works and what not. I'd give it a try even if you are not using NeoOffice

I would think that once installed, a font on your system will be available on all of your programs, including OpenOffice's Writer.

God bless and Best Regards,

That should work, provided you restart Writer if it's open when you install the font.
OpenOffice 4.1.11 on Ubuntu; LibreOffice 6.4 on Linux Mint, LibreOffice 7.6.2.1 on Ubuntu
