I need to set up my header at 1/2 inch from top of page, however when I set the margins at 1 inch to do the other work, they header moves down too, can anyone tell me how to set this up

NB: what do you mean by "do the other work"? Are you talking about a new page? the text on e the same page?...

I am doing a research paper for school, the margins have to be 1 inch all around, however the header has to be 1/2 from top of page, when I try to set it up, the header goes to the 1 inch margin
