Can you save a write document as a Jpeg file, if so how?

Install a virtual printer like PDFCreator and when it asks for a filename, in the dropdown list of the file formats, select .jpg (or. png is there is no camera pictures).

Thanks to add '[Solved]' at beginning of your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.

So just to clarify, you can't do it direct from saving a "Write" file?

No.

As Hagar de l'Est suggests or just export as .pdf and then use a converter (there are some online) to convert to.jpg.
