OO Writer files converted to Word 2003, then saved as RTF

I am a technical recruiter who received a resume from a candidate.

The candidate wrote his resume in OO Writer and saved it in MS Word format.

My Word 2003 application opens and reads the file with no trouble. When I save the file as an RTF format, however, that newly formed file cannot be opened by MS Word 2003.

Interesting bug, right?
