[Solved] Seeing Arabic Numerals instead of English

I upgraded to OO 3.0. When I type numbers in document with font set to Times Roman, I see Arabic(?) font numerals!!! Letters and other characters look fine.

Same problem when using Arial. Have not tries other fonts.

Same problem in Impress (and I guess other OO apps)

OS - Windows XP with latest patches.
Have MS2007 on my machine.

Search on Forum did not help with my problem. If I cut and paste the numbers in here they change to English.

Has this document ever come from MS Word, or does this happen with a File > New > Text Document?

What is the language shown in the status bar for the paragraph where this is happening?

This is a new document. Language in Status bar shows English (USA).

I see a normal string of digits and the symbols from shifted number keys. The language for the document is set to English USA too.

What happens if you use the PDF button and export as a PDF. Does the PDF have the same symbols within it?

Seems similar to that one: [Solved] Writer 2.4 loads Word document with strange numbers. But the issue has been fixed. I haven't followed all the links to the issues, perhaps you'll find something in the configuration files that could trigger this.

Go to Tools > Options
In the left hand pane expand the "Language settings" item
Choose the language item

What are the settings in there?

Shut down the office including the quick-starter and move your OOo3 profile folder you should find somewhere below C:\Documents and Settings\malharsire\Application Data\... There might be one for v2 and one for v3. Restart the office, handle the first-start-wizard and see.

So I moved the C:\Documents and Settings\myname\Application Data\OpenOffice.org\3
directory and restarted and it asked me for Name settings. I had to uncheck the "Transfer Settings" box in the dialog for this to work.

I have the same problem, but I don't understand "move the profile folder". Where should I move it from and to?
